I recently had a friend ask me for healthy birthday ideas or recipe options. Her husband’s birthday was coming up and they have made some significant weight loss progress this summer. In addition to cooking more at home and getting a veggie co-op box every week, they have focused on eating more whole foods while eating less highly processed foods in their diet.
It’s one day of the year, so if you do eat regular cake and ice cream and whatever else that day, do it and enjoy! Others just want to eat healthy from now on, no matter the occasion or day and don’t want to look back on the way they used to do things. Whatever the case may be for you, decide what’s important to you on your special day.
We brainstormed ideas and thought I’d share our list of ways to approach the special day or recipes to try if you want to do something healthier on your special day:
This is only the beginning of ways to celebrate. What have you done on your birthday? Do you have other suggestions to add to our list?
